Network ready for Black Friday and Christmas peak
InPost - the leader in modern logistics in Poland - has expanded its network of Paczkomaty® (parcel machines) to 6,000. Paczkomat No. 6000 stood in the Małopolska town of Sucha Beskidzka. The company is ready to handle parcels during the Christmas peak, which customarily begins on Black Friday - i.e. this year on the 29th. Customers can also take advantage of the "Fast Shipment" option - without registration, logging in and queues, reduced parcel prices and open boxes from the application level - without touching the Paczkomat® screen.
"This year we have set our sights on strong infrastructure development - which is paying off, as we are the fastest parcel provider in Poland. We meet the D+1 deadline by more than 98% - and this is what customers value. We have prepared not only for the Christmas parcel peak - but above all for the constant handling of the rapidly growing volumes in our network. We have introduced revolutionary changes to the way parcels are collected via the app as part of the GO MOBILE! campaign, we have launched attractive services such as fast shipping, we have lowered prices - and at the same time we have expanded the Parcel Machines® network to 6,000 and invested heavily in new sorting centres. We are not slowing down - next year we will continue this growth strategy. The scale of the ongoing investments is best demonstrated by the fact that just last year we had 4,300 Parcel Machines in the same period." - underlines Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost .
Brzoska stressed that InPost is expanding its infrastructure evenly across the country. "Our 6,000th Paczkomat stood in Sucha Beskidzka, which has a population of just over 9,000. We want each of our customers, regardless of whether they live in a city of one million inhabitants or in a commune with a few hundred inhabitants, to have access to the exceptional quality and convenience offered by our Paczkomaty," he emphasised.
In November, InPost concluded a direct contract for delivery and order processing with AliExpress, a global platform from the Alibaba Group. It has thus become a strategic partner for AliExpress in Poland. As of 21 November 2019, customers of the platform can pick up parcels from China at InPost's Paczkomat® parcel machines throughout Poland. Such a delivery option is available directly on the AliExpress website when making a purchase, just like in Polish online shops. According to Gemius data, the offer of the global e-commerce giant has already been used by every eighth Polish internet user - it is at the very top of the most frequently selected shopping platforms in Poland.
InPost recently released an innovative solution that allows you to manage your Parcel Machine® and your locker from within the app [1] . From now on, multiple people will be able to receive parcels at one Parcel Machine® at the same time. The GO MOBILE! strategy is another step in the reorientation of the logistics industry towards mobility. InPost will also soon make it possible to send parcels using an application installed on a smartphone.
A high percentage of the use of Paczkomaty® InPost is recorded not only in large (81%) or medium-sized (77%) cities, but also among the inhabitants of rural areas (71%) and smaller towns (74%). . There is a similarly high level of indications among users in all age groups, with the over 50s as high as 65% and the over 60s 58%.
