InPost with new sorting facility for growing courier services

Dynamic growth of the InPost service Courier has resulted in the need to lease a new 15,000 sq m sorting facility at Park P3 Piotrków. The new facility, which is currently under construction, will enable the installation of two additional state-of-the-art sorting lines, which will increase its capacity by 60 %. The number of available truck gates will increase by 300 %. The contract provides for the possibility of expanding the sorting facility to 18,000 sq m. The contractor for the sorting facility is P3 Piotrków, the facility is being developed in the BTS formula.
" Very dynamic development of courier services - In the first quarter alone, we handled 2.8 million pieces of courier parcels - which led us to the urgent decision to expand our sorting capacity. In the completely new sorting facility, we will be able to increase the volumes handled by 60 % compared to the existing sorting facility. Previously, we had not planned such a rapid expansion, but the positive customer response to the courier services , with which we launched just 11 months ago, significantly accelerated the decision to lease a new location." - Sebastian Anioł, CEO of InPost S.A., said.
The new facility features a number of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions. The entire facility will be illuminated by LEDs, so it will consume 30% less electricity despite being 50% larger than the existing sorting plant. In addition, significant savings will be possible through the use of a solar installation for water heating.
"It is important that a separate sorting line for letters only will be set up in the new sorting plant. InPost is steadily recording growth especially in letters with small parcels - registered e-commrce - which have taken the place of the smallest parcels thanks to their competitive price. We expect that this segment, which is an excellent complement to parcels and courier deliveries, will continue to grow, which is why we have decided to build a separate sorting line dedicated to this type of parcel." - Sebastian Anioł said.
Park P3 Piotrków is located in close proximity to Piotrków Trybunalski, at the junction of the A1 motorway with the important E75 and E67 expressways. This location provides direct road connections to Warsaw, Wrocław and Katowice. The park covers a plot of 120 ha. Construction of the park began in 2008. InPost is one of the largest tenants in the facility.

The operator's offer is also complemented by a wide range of modern solutions, including those dedicated to the courier sector: Dynamic Parcel Redirection and posting Allegro parcels in Paczkomaty® InPost. This is a free option, thanks to which the customer can collect their order in a designated Paczkomaty® InPost or at a selected Customer Service Point. The service is a convenience created for e-entrepreneurs processing a small daily number of orders, who want to adjust the parcel delivery date to their work timeframe. On the other hand, the option of sending parcels from Allegro in Paczkomaty® InPost allows to send courier parcels at any time using one of more than 1800 conveniently located Paczkomaty® InPost machines in Poland. The solution allows for fast and efficient order processing without waiting for the parcels to be collected by an InPost employee.
InPost is also expanding its infrastructure Customer Service Points throughout Poland. The Network Development Division was set up specifically for this purpose, with the task of adapting the POK network for services dedicated to e-commerce. Thanks to the measures taken, it will be even better adapted to the sending of letters, courier and parcel post.
