Record-breaking Black Friday for the InPost Group in Poland

Black Friday, that is, the start of the Christmas shopping season in the USA, thanks to the internet, which has abolished borders is increasingly popular in other countries, including Poland. This shopping frenzy, known for record discounts and promotions, is an important indicator for the country's e-commerce sector. Its recurrence every year shows a development trend. For the InPost Group, the trend is extremely positive. The number of e-commerce registered letters on 25.11.2016 compared to "Black Friday" on 27.11.2015 increased by 151%, courier shipments by 91% and Parcel Machines® shipments by 56%.

Rafał Brzoska adds that the observed increases in volumes in all segments show how much the market needed integrated services that allow ordering all services under one roof, which greatly facilitates the work of the e-commerce sector. InPost is the only logistics operator in Poland that offers all services from registered e-commerce letter, through Paczkomaty to courier services (including same-day courier) in one place.

E-commerce registered letters are most frequently used by users selling their goods via the Allegro.pl auction platform. 97% of letters reach their recipients at D + 3, i.e. on the third day after posting. Courier services and Paczkomaty® are more frequently used by online shops and traditional shops, which enable purchases via the Internet. Currently in Poland, InPost cooperates with several hundred partners, who deliver shipments and accept returns from customers in this way, and the number of Paczkomaty® in Poland is 2,100.
