InPost and Poczta Polska have concluded an agreement
24 April 2015
InPost - the largest private postal operator in Poland and creator of the international success of Paczkomats® - has signed a contract with the Polish Post Office for paid access to postal infrastructure. Its key element is providing InPost with more than 115,000 box sets, which until now could only be used by Polish Post postmen and women. The agreement will apply throughout the country and is a milestone in the cooperation of postal and courier operators in Poland. Thanks to the agreement concluded InPost will deliver correspondence to more than 500,000 recipients without a private inbox.
The people who will benefit most from the cooperation are above all those living in smaller towns and villages. The agreement signed between the operators will allow them to receive InPost's correspondence within the public postal infrastructure they have used to date.
"The cooperation of the two largest operators - the private InPost and the state-owned Poczta Polska - is excellent news for all Poles. We have been striving for a long time to finalise this agreement and gain access to the public infrastructure - in accordance with the regulations of the Postal Law Act. We hope that our cooperation with Poczta Polska is a milestone in the further development of the postal sector in Poland, implemented on the basis of strategic alliances. The greatest beneficiaries of the agreement will be all Poles, who every day receive mail in their letter boxes. We are ready to help Poczta Polska in all areas where the state-owned operator generates losses - because we want to reduce losses in Poczta Polska, for which the State Treasury and private operators have to contribute". comments Sebastian Anioł, CEO of InPost.
