Recently, InPost has won tenders for the handling of correspondence of the government's Shared Services Centre, worth 33 million PLN, and KRUS - valued at almost 23 million PLN. In addition, InPost, together with PGP, has been handling the correspondence of common courts and prosecutors' offices for a year - the two-year contract is worth almost PLN 500 million and covers 100 million parcels.

Poland's largest private postal operator - at the end of the third quarter of 2014, carried out contracts for the handling of correspondence for as many as 2,600 companies in Poland, both public institutions and private companies. This represents an increase of 20% since the beginning of the year. InPost offers attractive prices for postal services - up to 40% lower than the competition, the highest delivery efficiency in the market (93% for ordinary letters, 95% for registered letters) and modern technological solutions, such as Electronic Receipt of Undelivery (EPO). From June to September 2014 alone, InPost participated in 38 public tenders, of which it won in as many as 27 cases. This means a 70% success rate in winning contracts in the last period and almost PLN 30 million savings for public institutions.

"The formal merger with PGP is the culmination of a very fruitful year for both companies in parcel services in Poland. Both InPost and PGP have won numerous contracts with mass senders and have won numerous public tenders. Thanks to the slow liberalisation of the postal market in Poland and the activity of private operators, the Polish State, which - without losing quality - saves millions of zlotys in public funds, as well as all Poles, who do not have to fear further increases in letter prices and at the same time can benefit from the latest technological solutions, e.g. EPO (Electronic Confirmation of Receipt), is gaining. We are ahead of the competition for the designated operator - we are currently analysing the conditions set by UKE. We are also in talks regarding the considered acquisition of Inforsys - this, however, may take place in the second half of 2015, after InPost's debut on the WSE." - comments Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.

InPost has a network of more than 8,300 customer service points throughout Poland, 76 per cent of which are also open on Saturdays and 8 per cent on Sundays. Every day, more than 10,000 deliverers deliver mail to the doors of residents throughout Poland. Addressees and senders can follow the route of letters on the websites of inpost.pl .

In 2013, the number of parcels handled by InPost was around 240 million pieces, while in 2014 this level rose to 300 million pieces. Letters and parcels delivered by InPost are sequenced in a modern 10,000 m2 sorting facility, which handles up to 1.2 million parcels per day thanks to ultra-modern sorters.

In addition, in November InPost reached an agreement with Allegro for strategic cooperation in the delivery of products ordered online. Now, in the delivery options, each e-tailer can add new options: Allegro Paczkomaty InPost (PLN 7.99) and Allegro Polecony InPost (PLN 3.94). This will be the cheapest form of delivery available - for both registered letter and parcel. In each of these options, customers are guaranteed a free return of the purchased goods.

In turn, the Polish Postal Group has completed the implementation of Electronic Receipt in all courts of two appeals: in Kraków and Białystok. Nearly 1,000 deliverers equipped with electronic terminals work for 65 courts of both appellate courts, and advised correspondence can be collected in as many as 500 advisory points.

"EPO does not only mean smaller bills for sending an acknowledgement of receipt, as the electronic version is cheaper than sending a traditional so-called paper. return. We estimate that after the implementation of the EPO, the courts will save hundreds of thousands of man-hours and will be able to transfer employees handling correspondence to other tasks. From the organisational point of view, the Polish Postal Group is ready to implement EPO in further appeals. We are waiting for final arrangements with our partners and I think that further information on EPO implementations should follow fairly soon." - said Witold Szczurek, President of the Management Board of PGP S.A.

Thanks to the use of electronic terminals, the circulation of court correspondence after the introduction of the EPO is shorter by up to a dozen days. Time calculated from dispatch of correspondence from the Court to registration of the EPO acknowledgement in the Court's system:

  • for parcels delivered (81% of volume) - average circulation time is 1.5 days
  • for advised shipments, issued (15% of volume) - average circulation time 5 days
  • for returned mail (wrong address ect.) (1%) - average circulation time 2.4 days
  • for advised shipments not collected on time (3%) - average circulation time 19 days

The Polish Postal Group is one of the technological leaders of the Polish postal market, providing delivery services in Poland and all countries belonging to the World Postal Union.
