InPost launches new sorting facility at P3 Piotrków Park

 

The new facility of more than 15,000 m², with 53 docks and six courier gates, will serve as InPost's main sorting facility. The larger area of the sorting plant has enabled the installation of two additional state-of-the-art sorting lines, increasing its capacity by 60 per cent. The new sorting facility is the company's response to the dynamically growing volumes of e-commerce letters, courier shipments and shipments delivered via Paczkomat® InPost.

"We are recording monthly increases of several or tens of percent in the volume of e-commerce registered letters handled, courier deliveries and Paczkomat®. This meant that the facility previously occupied became too cramped for us. In the new sorting facility, we will be able to increase the volumes handled by 60 %. In addition, we expect the fourth quarter to be record-breaking for us, so the new sorting centre will allow us to better prepare for the upcoming parcel peak, so that all parcels sent through InPost reach their recipients on time, which is important especially during the Christmas period when everyone is waiting for presents". - Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost S.A., said.

InPost's new sorting facility has 5,700 m² of warehouse space, 8,000 m² of crossdock space and almost 1,600 m² of office space. Ecological solutions have been used in the facility, including a solar system to support water heating, taps with aerators and infrared actuation, and new type of sandwich panels with increased insulation. The interior as well as exterior lighting of the warehouse is made to LED standard.

"Despite the withdrawal from the traditional letter market, we still offer e-commerce registered letters throughout Poland. For us, it is important that a separate sorting line will be set up in the new sorting plant just for this type of letter. The Group continues to record strong growth especially in letters with small parcels - currently several tens of thousands of parcels per day - which have taken the place of the smallest parcels thanks to competitive pricing. So it is important that, thanks to the new facility, we are well prepared to handle increasing volumes in the smallest parcel segment as well." - Rafał Brzoska emphasises.

P3 was the contractor for the sorting plant. "We are very pleased with the cooperation with InPost. Tailoring the turnkey space will affect the client's effective use of the facility, and increasing the existing leased space to 15,000 m² will affect its capacity in terms of services offered. P3 Piotrków is a place with huge potential for development, mainly due to its location - in central Poland, close to two motorways, as well as the high availability of labour. The activities of InPost, even more so in the form of a major sorting centre, definitely underline the strategic importance of our location in nationwide distribution," - said Piotr Brzozowski, P3 Leasing and Development Director in Poland

Park P3 Piotrków is located in close proximity to Piotrków Trybunalski, at the junction of the A1 motorway with the important E75 and E67 expressways. This location provides direct road connections to Warsaw, Wrocław and Katowice. The park covers a plot of 120 ha. Construction of the park began in 2008. InPost is one of the largest tenants in the facility.

The operator's offer is also complemented by a wide range of modern solutions, including those dedicated to the courier sector: Dynamic Parcel Redirection and posting Allegro parcels in Paczkomaty® InPost. This is a free option, thanks to which the customer can collect their order in a designated Paczkomaty® InPost or at a selected Customer Service Point. The service is a convenience created for e-entrepreneurs processing a small daily number of orders, who want to adjust the parcel delivery date to their work timeframe. On the other hand, the option of sending parcels from Allegro in Paczkomaty® InPost allows you to send courier parcels at any time using one of more than 2050 conveniently located Paczkomaty® InPost machines in Poland. The solution allows for fast and efficient processing of orders without waiting for the parcels to be collected by an InPost employee.
