Creating promotions and special price reductions can successfully take place throughout the year - it all depends on your online shop strategy. However, there are some dates that should not be ignored! At that time, customers will certainly be looking for interesting offers.
What events are we talking about? Let's take a closer look at the e-commerce calendar for 2020!
The e-commerce sector - a little summary of 2019
There's a lot going on in 2019, with online sales hitting record highs. We saw this during Black Friday. The scale of the increase in shopping by Poles on this day beat forecasts. This was influenced by the retailers themselves, who prepared exceptionally interesting promotions - often bundled with free delivery. There was also a lot going on at our company - InPost. We are trying to change the market not only from the side of cooperation with online shops, but also from the side of the consumers themselves. In 2019, we introduced a remote parcel collection service and concluded a fruitful agreement to handle deliveries and orders with the Poles' favourite shopping platform, AliExpress. We also launched more Parcel Machines across the country. The expansion of our infrastructure has allowed us to become the fastest parcel provider in Poland. There are now more than 6,000 innovative machines in operation for self-sending and receiving parcels. We have reasons to be proud!

-
E-commerce calendar: January
At the beginning of the year, sales begin. Many shops empty their warehouses and get rid of items that were not so popular. Internet users are not only hunting for clothes and shoes at lower prices - they are also interested in electronics and books. In fact, every online shop should take part in the sales.
-
E-commerce calendar: February
The festival of lovers cannot take place without the search for gifts for the beloved other half - Valentine's Day takes place on 14 February. This is a good opportunity to organise various promotions.
-
E-commerce calendar: March
On 8 March, we celebrate Women's Day all over Poland. On this day, all ladies want to feel special. In addition to flowers, additional discounts on cosmetics or clothing accessories will come in handy.
-
E-commerce calendar: April
Easter bunnies, eggs and baskets herald the upcoming Easter holidays, which in 2020 fall on 12 and 13 April. It is a good idea to launch a campaign to mark the occasion at the beginning of the month, so that the spring mood is communicated to customers.
-
E-commerce calendar: May
26 May is Mother's Day, which is a must celebrate.
-
E-commerce calendar: June
Warm June opens up Children's Day - e-commerce owners from various industries have great opportunities to promote their platforms during this time. Discount coupons will be the best idea. 23 June marks Father's Day, and every dad deserves a cool gift. At the same time, the summer sales are taking off, so the online shops with the biggest discounts are facing a lot of traffic.
-
E-commerce calendar: July
In July, customers continue to look for sold-out items. Holidays are also underway.
-
E-commerce calendar: August
The sales are coming to an end and the shops are slowly preparing for 'back to school' - already in the second half of August, it is worth ensuring that the right marketing activities and the first discounts are in place.
-
E-commerce calendar: September
The back to school season is in full swing - promotions can run successfully throughout the month. After all, putting together a school kit and new clothes is no easy task. On 30 September, we celebrate Boy's Day - this is also worth remembering.
-
E-commerce calendar: October
In mid-autumn, the weather changes - it gets colder and colder, so consumers are looking for warmer clothes and footwear, also for the winter season. 31 October marks Halloween - an American custom that is gaining more and more popularity in Poland every year, especially among the younger generations. This is the perfect time to organise a night of shopping.
-
E-commerce calendar: November
November opens with All Saints' Day. It would seem that customers will not feel like shopping during this time, but stationary shops will be closed. Some retailers may create a sales and display offer relating to the holiday itself - others extend discounts from Halloween. It is a good idea to prepare your website for Black Friday, which will take place on 27 November, as early as the beginning of the month.
-
E-commerce calendar: December
December sees the culmination of Christmas shopping and more. Everyone is looking for gifts at good prices. The undoubted sales opportunity is Santa Claus, but in fact the whole month should be full of unique promotions.
