Magda has conquered Makalu!

Magdalena Gorzkowska, a Polish mountaineer and Olympian, who in 2017 became the youngest Polish woman ever to conquer the world's highest peak with our Paczkomat: Mount Everest, has embarked on another journey.

You might say that this is the end of the story, because you can't go any higher. And yet... It turns out that the impossible does not exist for the young traveller. Magda on 8 April started her next journey with our Parcels to the Himalayas. This time to climb two peaks in a fortnight - Makalu and Lhotse, which belong to the Crown of the Himalayas and Karakorum, the 14 highest peaks on Earth. The woman plans to be the first Polish woman ever to conquer all the known eight-thousand-metre peaks. This year, it is the turn of the pioneering oxygen-free ascent of Makalu - the fifth highest peak in the world - and nearby Lhotse. And with Magda in the Himalayas, two small Packs will set off.

Update from the expedition:

On 15.05. Magda became the second Pole in history to conquer Makalu (8,481m), the world's fifth-highest peak. An additional challenge was the ascent without oxygen. The 18-hour summit attack and the way back in difficult conditions resulted in frostbite, which, after consulting a doctor, turned out to be so serious that Magda decided to return home now.

However, the Himalayan climber is not giving up on her plans and dreams. Lhotse - the fourth highest mountain on Earth will wait, and Magda will take up the challenge in the following seasons. We will support her in further expeditions, in the meantime we look forward to a happy and speedy return to Poland and wish her good health.
