A new version of InPost's 'Innovative Municipality' campaign, supporting the technological development of Polish municipalities
18 August 2016
As part of the campaign, municipalities that send in an application will receive a fully functional Paczkomat® InPost free of charge to be installed in a selected location. The Paczkomat® will be connected to InPost's logistics system and will serve the municipality's customers both sending parcels and receiving orders placed in online shops.
Many people from smaller towns and villages are regular customers of online shops and want to use e-commerce sites. It is much more convenient for them to place an order online or by phone with a mail order catalogue at hand, rather than driving to a larger centre and bringing the purchased goods from there. However, the condition required by customers is the possibility of fast and competitively priced parcel collection. This is exactly what Paczkomaty® InPost offers, which, according to the latest report "E-commerce in Poland 2016" are the second most popular form of receiving online purchases, overtaking postal deliveries and targeting deliveries of courier .
The previous edition of the 'Innovative Municipality' campaign took place in the first half of 2016 and resulted in more than 100 municipalities receiving Parcel Machines®. In addition, twenty first-come, first-served localities received computer equipment for use at the municipality office or school. In the current edition, the pool of 'first places' has been expanded to thirty, with more convenient and modern laptops taking the place of computer equipment - already present in most municipalities and schools.
