Packing a parcel? Here are the essential accessories you need to use
23 December 2019
Sending parcels is a convenient and practical solution. So it is no surprise that more and more people are using it. Courier deliveries make it possible to quickly transport our items to a variety of distant locations - even across borders. However, the problem arises when we have to prepare the parcel for the journey ourselves. What should we do to ensure that our parcel arrives at its destination safe and sound?
Packing parcels is time-consuming and can be a real challenge for some . Unfortunately, in this case, it is not just the aesthetic appearance of the parcel that counts, although this too should sometimes be taken care of. There are some practical things to keep in mind that will streamline the whole shipping process, make it easier for the courier to transport and also be good for the environment.
To make things easier for customers, courier companies are offering more and more parcel packing accessories . With their help, packing is more efficient and the whole process runs much more smoothly. This makes the task easier not only for the packer, but also for those responsible for handling the parcel at many stages. Before you get down to business, we recommend you stock up on a few items:
Paper cutter and adhesive tape
With packaging parcels It's like wrapping a present - you can't do without a sharp knife and tape. The knife will allow you to cut the elements precisely so that the parcel will be properly packed, while the tape will protect the parcel from unwanted damage. When packing a parcel, it is worth using an adhesive tape dispenser, which will facilitate the process of sealing the elements - especially useful when packing large volumes. Tape all the seams on the carton. This will prevent the package from opening during transport.
Appropriate packaging for the consignment
In fact, the most important thing is what we want to pack in our parcel. If the item to be shipped is small, simply use foil packs . They are foil-protected at the factory so that the items being transported will not be damaged. For larger items it is advisable to use cardboard boxes .
The size of the packaging must be matched to the dimensions of the product being shipped. We offer boxes in a variety of sizes . In addition, to optimise the packing process, they have automatic bottoms and secure closures. "Air-sending" is very unprofitable - it is combined with a higher shipping fee (if it is larger or heavier than it could actually be), as well as later delivery (which can be a problem if there is not enough space in the warehouse or in the delivery truck). Also, don't forget that the box you choose should be made of a durable material. This is particularly important with heavy, bulky shipments.
Packet fillers
When we send a parcel, we want it to reach the addressee without damage. To this end, we use packaging accessories designed to protect the parcel in transit - so-called fillers. Among the most popular choices are bubble wrap, air bags, polystyrene filler or crumpled paper. They enable empty spaces to be filled, so that packaged items do not move during transport and reach the recipient without defects. Electronic equipment is best protected with cardboard or polystyrene protective profiles.
Shipping label
The parcel to be sent must be marked correctly. For this purpose, address labels are used, which must be very well filled in and placed in the right place on the parcel. This is the most important element of the entire shipment - thanks to its identification, our parcel is able to set off on its journey. It is essential that it is the only label on the package. If we are reusing the box in which we received an item, all possible stickers should be removed from it. Always place the label on top of the packaging.
Shipping Guide
Perhaps our advice will make packing less complicated. Above all, the whole process should be done "with your head" - that is, calmly and with the necessary precision. Do not forget to prepare the product you want to pack in advance and to know its dimensions. This will allow you to obtain the necessary tools in advance, which will make the packing process go much more smoothly.
