Paying with a contactless card? You can now do it at any Parcel Machine® InPost
15 October 2014
As a result, in each of the 1100 Paczkomat® InPost machines in Poland, customers will be able to pay in a convenient and fast way for sending a parcel or picking up a cash on delivery . The implementation of unified contactless payments is in line with Polish consumer preferences: according to research by First Data, almost 60 per cent of adult Poles want to pay with contactless cards and have confidence in this form of settlement.
The market for modern payment technologies in Poland is growing rapidly - research shows that at the end of 2013 there were already more than 20 million contactless payment cards in Polish wallets, and 21% of Poles who have them declare using them at least once a week. The offer of contactless payments is complemented by the possibility to settle payments with a smartphone using NFC technology - both solutions can already be used at Paczkomat® InPost.
"Contactless payments are very popular and trusted in Poland - and thanks to the innovative technology, the payment process is shortened to a minimum. The decision to implement contactless readers in all our devices is part of the implementation of the strategy to continuously improve the functionality of Paczkomat® InPost. Now the customer can send a parcel or pick up ordered goods even without a wallet - all that is needed is a suitably adapted smartphone. We expect that, thanks to this innovation, using Paczkomaty® InPost will become an even more pleasant and effective form of delivery for purchases made online". says Rafał Brzoska, CEO of Integer.pl Group.
Delivery by Paczkomat® InPost is currently enabled by nearly 5,000 e-shops operating under their own domain (including Merlin, MediaMarkt, Saturn, Gandalf.com.pl, Answear.com) and 30,000 sellers offering their products on Allegro.
According to a study by the Integer.pl Group, a total of 12 million users already use Paczkomaty® InPost, and 98% of parcels are ready for collection within 24 hours of posting. As many as 98% of users declare their willingness to use the service again, and 97% of them recommend them to their friends.
For e-shops, the reasons for choosing delivery by means of Paczkomat® InPost are the competitive price of delivery and convenience for the customer. As statistics show, nearly 60% of products are collected from the innovative terminals outside of the standard opening hours of service outlets, which proves the high demand for time-unlimited solutions. Deloitte analysts point out that e-tailers who do not offer the "pick up and drop off" option, of which Paczkomaty® InPost is the most perfect version, run a significant risk of lack of growth in online sales. Statistics show that 80% of online shoppers are more likely to make ia purchase if the e-store offers delivery to an InPost parcel machine. Limited delivery options, on the other hand, are a reason for abandonment for almost ¾ of shoppers (73%).
"Interest in Paczkomaty® InPost among Polish consumers is growing and everything indicates that the popularity of using the terminals will continue to grow dynamically. It is apparent that Poles have found in this innovative solution what they have long expected from a supplier specialising in the e-commerce market. Such great interest in the solutions offered by our company is a result not only of the global growth of interest in e-commerce, but also of the development of mobile technologies, which make it possible to use the offer of e-shops from practically anywhere in the world. Paczkomaty® InPost perfectly fit into this trend and, by eliminating the 'last mile' problem, are an ideal solution to the problems typical of traditional parcel delivery methods." - Rafał Brzoska adds.
The problem of the "last mile" is perfectly illustrated by statistics showing that the traditional courier can deliver a maximum of 60 parcels per day if it has accurate data and finds the addressees at home, while the Parcel Machine® supplier InPost delivers 600-700 parcels at the same time, significantly reduces delivery costs, making Parcel Machines® the cheapest form of delivery during D+1.
Paczkomaty® InPost is currently the world's largest network for the self-service sending and receiving of parcels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without queues and in a convenient location, thus providing the highest level of logistics service for goods ordered online. Devices "tailor-made" for today's times are already available in 22 international markets. In just a few years they have conquered, in addition to Poland: Australia, Chile, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Ireland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Estonia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, as well as: Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatemala.
There are - in various business models - more than 3,500 InPost Parcel Machines® operating worldwide. The company plans to install a further 6,000 terminals across Europe, Asia, the Americas, as well as in the Middle East and Africa.
The superior quality and innovation of InPost is confirmed by numerous international awards: the title of 'Supplier of the Year' at Post Expo 2014, winning the prestigious World Mail Award four times between 2010 and 2013, the Delivery Excellence Award 2014 in the category: "Best Carrier Contribution to Delivery Innovation", which Parcel Machinesâ InPost received 2014 in the UK, or the Postal Technology International Award in the 'Retail Innovation of the Year' category for 'Innovation of the Year'.
