Gemius: InPost courier services in third place in Poland

According to the report 'e-commerce in Poland in 2017, Gemius for e-Commerce Poland', InPost's courier services are in third place among the most popular courier services in Poland. InPost launched its courier services from scratch in August 2015 and has only developed them organically, without acquiring any of the existing courier companies on the market.

"When we made the decision to abandon the regular letter market and focus on e-commerce services and build competence in the courier market from scratch, many people accused us of being unrealistic. Today, just two years after launching our courier services, we have a strong third position among the most preferred operators and are the fastest growing courier company in the market. This is a major success for InPost's employees, managers and board." - said Rafał Brzoska, founder and CEO of Integer.pl Group.

Brzoska added that while just last year InPost's courier services were as often chosen as those of Poczta Polska, InPost has now clearly beaten the state-owned operator.

"Since last year, we have recorded a more than threefold increase as the most popular courier company from 3% to 11%. The scale of our success is shown by the names of the companies that ranked next behind InPost on the Gemius list: Poczta Polska, UPS, Fedex and GLS." - Rafał Brzoska emphasises.

According to the Gemius report, both among the customers of Paczkomaty and the customers of InPost courier services, one can find mainly young people with higher education, i.e. with higher earnings, who are the most affluent and future-oriented customers of the e-commerce sector. They attach great importance to the speed, timeliness of courier services offered and the technological advancement of other logistics services.
InPost's courier services are most often chosen by consumers in the 15-24 age range. Importantly, InPost is the only company in Poland that combines deliveries under one roof by courier and Parcel Machine.

"The 2017 Gemius e-commerce report is a very good forecast for the future, as these customers will have a growing income in a few years' time and, as people who have already grown up in the e-commerce era, will prefer this form of shopping." - Brzoska said.

The information on the high ranking of InPost's courier services is not the only positive information arising from the Gemius report. We previously reported that the InPost Parcel Machine® is the second most popular delivery method for online purchases, after courier deliveries. In 2017, it was chosen by 22 % of customers, compared to 11 % in 2015. Parcel machines thus outclassed postal deliveries (in practice, such services are only offered by the Polish Post Office), which were chosen by 21 % in 2015 and already by only 13 % of online shoppers in 2017.

The Gemius report also brings other very good information for the Integer.pl Group. Currently, 50% of Polish e-commerce customers indicate Paczkomat® InPost as a form of delivery that motivates them to buy online, while just 2 years ago it was 41%.
