21 September 2017
According to Gemius' report e-commerce in Poland 2017, Paczkomat® InPost is the second, after supplies courier the most popular delivery method for online shopping. In 2017, it was chosen by 22 % of customers, compared to 11 % in 2015. Parcel machines thus outclassed postal deliveries (in practice, such services are only offered by the Polish Post Office), which were chosen by 21 % in 2015 and already by only 13 % of online shoppers in 2017.
" This year's Gemius research has brought us sensational news. Paczkomat® InPost is becoming synonymous with online shopping and is the second most popular form of delivery after courier deliveries. It is worth noting at this point that there are nearly ten major courier companies, and the Paczkomat® InPost is our unique solution ” - Rafał Brzoska, founder and CEO of Integer.pl, said.
He added that the flavour of the study was that the The InPost parcel machine is chosen almost twice as often as delivery through a postal window . "None of us likes to wait in queues, and they are the hallmark of the dominant operator's postal outlets. The self-service Parcel Machine® will in practice be able to largely replace the traditional post office within the next few years. It is already possible not only to pick up, but also to send parcels both nationally and internationally and to pay for these services by card. This is not the end of its functionalities, as we are working on new ones all the time." - Brzoska emphasises.
The Gemius report also brings other very good news for Integer.pl Group. Currently 50% of Polish e-commerce customers indicate Paczkomat® InPost as their delivery method motivating people to buy online, compared to 41% just two years ago.
„ Nothing better motivates one to work on service quality than to know that the solution offered is appreciated by an increasing number of customers. The fact that, for 50% of online shoppers, Parcelcomat® is a motivator to buy should also be a strong signal to online shops. For it means one thing: if you do not provide the possibility of delivery via Parcelcomat®, the customer can go to a competitor with his money. which has the same product but has the advantage of being able to deliver via Parcel Machine®". - Rafał Brzoska points out.
The parcel machine is a man?
It is interesting to note that among both men and women The proportion of people choosing Parcel Post is growing rapidly. However, while in 2015 12% of women and 9% of men using e-commerce chose Parcel Post, in 2017 this parity reversed and in 2017 the majority of Parcel Post customers were men 27% (of those choosing this form of delivery of purchases) compared to 18% among women.
According to the Gemius report The majority of Paczkomaty® InPost customers are young people , with higher education, i.e. higher earners, who are the wealthiest and most forward-looking customers of the e-commerce industry. In doing so, they place extraordinary importance on the speed, timeliness and technological sophistication of the services offered.
In the 25-34 age group, as many as 56% cited Paczkomat® InPost as the delivery method that motivates them to buy online, with secondary and tertiary education at 54% and 58% respectively.
„ The Gemius e-commerce report 2017 provides a very good forecast for the future, as the these customers will have growing incomes in a few years' time and, as people who have grown up in the e-commerce age, will prefer this form of shopping ” - said Rafał Brzoska.
