Parcel storage in parcel machines
12 October 2019
For the sake of our Customers, in connection with the approaching pre-Christmas shopping frenzy and the increasing number of ordered parcels - we have launched the process of temporary storage of parcels in Paczkomat devices. Thanks to this, Customers will be able to collect their parcels faster in the so-called temporary device in a situation when the Parcel Machine originally selected by them will not have free boxes at the moment.
Parcels will be stored in nearby Parcel Machines, within a distance of no more than 2 km as the crow flies, relative to the originally selected Parcel Machine. Temporary storage of parcels at Parcel Machines is available 24/7, so this process is a convenient alternative to storing parcels at Parcel Collection Points.
What is the storage of parcels in Parcel Machines?
- Parcels for which there are no free boxes in the selected Parcel Machine will not be returned to the branch, but will be temporarily stored in a nearby machine.
- They will remain there for 1 full working day and unclaimed parcels on the next working day will be placed in the Parcel Machine originally selected by the Customer.
- The maximum distance between the originally selected Parcel Machine and the facility where the parcel is temporarily stored is 2 km, calculated in a straight line.
- During temporary storage, the customer has the option of picking up his or her parcel using the same collection code/QR code as at the originally selected machine.
The temporary parcel storage process has dedicated status notifications, providing information on the status of the parcel at each stage of delivery. Throughout the entire transport and storage process, you will be informed of the status of your parcel via email and/or SMS and on the InPost Mobile app. At any time, you will know where to direct yourself to pick up your parcel.
