Integrating InPost with Selesto – how can you automate dispatch and scale up sales in your online shop?
For business E-commerce
30 June 2026
A shop handling a few orders a week and one handling hundreds of parcels a day both need the same thing: a shipping solution that scales with their sales. The integration of InPost with Selesto provides a single dashboard where the same configuration can handle both a one-person business and a larger company without the need to overhaul your processes. Selesto operates on a subscription model, so you can connect to courier services directly through the platform’s tools. Let’s start from the basics – we’ll show you how to set up this connection step by step!
Selesto and InPost – what you’ll be starting with:
-
Scalable right from the start - The same integration supports both small and large shops without any change to the configuration.
-
Integration via the ShipX API - To get started, you’ll need an API key and an organisation ID from the Parcel Manager.
-
Geowidget in the basket - The buyer chooses the collection point themselves, and the selection is added to the order.
-
One-click labels - The order details are converted into a consignment note without the need for re-entry.
-
InPost Pay and Quick Returns - a quick and easy purchasing process and returns via a parcel locker without having to print a label.
What does the integration of InPost’s logistics services with the Selesto platform offer?
Logistics integration InPost and the Selesto platform are integrated the integration of a SaaS-based shop with the operator’s services, which allows you to manage dispatches directly from the sales dashboard. Selesto is a subscription-based platform, so delivery management is usually available as part of the platform’s tools, without the need to implement separate software. Access to this integration may vary depending on the plan you’ve chosen, so it’s worth checking the details in your package.
The integration provides a full range of services required for day-to-day dispatching, from delivery via an InPost Parcel Locker to delivery by an InPost courier directly to the specified address. The seller decides which delivery options to display in the shopping basket, and may set the cost depending on the service selected. The better the delivery costs are aligned with the pricing structure, the easier it is to keep track of actual monthly expenditure.

Who would benefit from this combination?
Solution scales alongside the business, which is why it works well for sole traders, civil partnerships and larger companies alike. A small shop starts out with the same setup that will later handle several times the volume of traffic, so you don’t have to overhaul your logistics every time sales increase. This is particularly convenient when you want your e-commerce business to grow without your fulfilment operations becoming a bottleneck.
How do I integrate my online shop with the ShipX API system?
You can integrate your online shop with InPost’s services via the ShipX API, i.e. an operator API built to the REST standard, which facilitates the automatic exchange of data between Selesto and the courier network. You begin the configuration by entering your access details in the shop’s admin panel. Without correct authorisation, the integration cannot transmit parcel information.
Before you initiate the connection, please enter your company details, namely the sender’s address and billing information. Without all of this information, the system will not be able to issue a valid consignment note. The connection runs over a secure channel protected by an SSL certificate, so order details are not transmitted in plain text.
Where can I get my login details?
To be combined You need an API key (a token authorising each data exchange) and Organisation ID (the identifier used to assign shipments to the correct account). You can retrieve both from the Parcel Manager service, i.e. the InPost dispatch dashboard. Before implementation, check that you are entering the correct set of details for the relevant environment, as confusing the test mode with the production mode is a common source of errors at the start.
How do I set up delivery methods and collection points in the shopping basket?
You can set your delivery methods in the control panel Selesto determines whether the customer will collect their parcel from a collection point (i.e. a Paczkomat parcel locker) or have it delivered by courier to their address. For each option, you set the cost displayed in the basket, and you can base this cost on the parcel’s dimensions and weight. This ensures that the delivery price list reflects what you are actually sending.
Choosing a collection point makes things easier for the buyer Geowidget – an interactive map of Paczkomat parcel lockers embedded directly in the shopping basket. Instead of entering an address, the customer selects a specific vending machine they are familiar with in the area, and this selection is added to the order and later printed on the label. A delivery service set up in this way can cater for a range of sectors, from small-scale orders to larger ones.
Delivery options to be selected in the shopping basket:
-
InPost Parcel Locker - collection from 24-hour parcel lockers, in sizes A, B and C.
-
InPost courier - delivery to the address provided, including for heavier parcels.
-
Selection from the map - The geowidget allows the customer to select a specific collection point.
-
Cash on delivery - the option to pay only upon collection of the parcel.
How can you automate the generation of shipping labels and order processing?
Automation means that the order details are transferred directly onto the label, and the consignment note is generated with a single click in the shop’s control panel. You don’t have to retype the recipient’s address or the sender’s details, as these are taken from the order itself and printed onto the label. Each parcel is given its own identification number, which you can use to identify it in the system.
What tasks does the automation system handle during dispatch:
-
Label generation - The consignment note is generated from the order details in a single step.
-
Parcel numbers - Each parcel is given a unique identification number.
-
Importing orders - The data is fed into the dashboard and linked to the shop’s product range.
-
One panel - You can manage orders and dispatches in a single view, without having to re-enter details manually.
-
Bulk mailings - You can process the entire batch for that day in a single operation rather than one by one.
-
Parcel status - Once the label has been generated, the order’s status changes automatically.
You can prepare labels individually for urgent parcels or in bulk with just a few clicks. All consignments are displayed in a single, organised view. At With sales on the rise, it is this automation that saves the most time and completes the entire order-processing process.
How does the InPost Pay service work when finalising an order?
Post Office Payment combines the shopping basket, payment and delivery options into a single button, so the customer completes their order without having to click through a series of screens. The service operates on a ‘fast checkout’ model, which shortens the purchasing journey and spares the customer the need to fill in a lengthy order form. Instead of entering their details time and time again, the customer confirms them in just a few simple steps.
The solution is closely linked to the InPost Mobile app, which is used by a wide range of customers. A shorter checkout process directly improves the user experience and boosts the conversion rate, as fewer people abandon their trollets just before payment. When setting it up, check that InPost Pay displays correctly in the trolley before making it available to customers.
How do you manage parcel tracking and returns?
Parcel tracking It operates in real time and is available to both parties – to the seller via the Selesto dashboard and to the customer once the parcel has been dispatched. A tracking number is assigned to each order, so the team can immediately see which parcel belongs to which customer. Please note that the delivery status is updated automatically at every stage of the parcel’s journey.
What does the tracking and management of notifications involve:
-
Real-time status - Updates at every stage of the delivery process, visible to both the seller and the customer.
-
Email and push notifications - The customer is notified automatically without having to contact the shop staff.
-
Tracking number for the order - linked to a specific buyer, without having to search the system.
How does the returns process work?
Returns are made easier by the Quick Returns service, which The buyer returns the goods via a parcel locker without printing a paper label. The customer requests a return, receives a code and drops off the parcel directly at a parcel locker, whilst the seller monitors the request in real time. Efficient returns processing and the ability to view their status have a tangible impact on improving the shop’s reputation and customer satisfaction.
Selesto, in partnership with InPost, means that This same dashboard tracks sales from the very first order right through to the scale at which every minute saved counts. You set up deliveries once, and the buyer selects a collection point in their basket; the label is generated automatically and is returned to the order with the delivery status. Set up the integration once and let the logistics handle it for you!
